Re: Hello from another newbie.
Hope it's a nice day for you all. I've only done 2 track days at cadwell. Loved it, did it on my hornet, so funny we all used our gymkhana bikes in the intermediate group. But every one else were on proper track bikes on full slicks. That was until it rained, and we had the track to our selves while they all ran away.
But on the next session they were back on full race wets!!
I had a great day, used loads of fuel due to the lowered gearing which made it scream it's tits off, but it did catch a few out in the corners with how quick it pulled away, topped out at 107mph

Re: Hello from another newbie.
Yep, I'll be there all day. If you come down just ask one of our guys to point me out and come and say hi. We went over there just over a week ago to lay out a course to see what was achievable in the small area the can let us have.
We're doing a come and try day for the local ROSPA group, as we did a presentation to them last November and they wanted to have a go.
For insurance reasons were making them use a couple of our spare bikes so if the crash them they won't do any damage to them.
Of course we're hoping to get some new members to join the gymkhana club so the sport continues to grow. We're going to have member practice sessions at the beginning of each month at Donington park, before the first weekend of each months competition.

I think I can see the wires, lolSteve L wrote:My name is steve, I've been riding since 93, owned cb125, mtx125, XT600, XTZ750, YZF600 thundercat, three hayabusa's 99,03,09, now FZ8 and an R6 to compete in this years Moto gymkhana championship.
I've been chairman of the Nottingham advanced motorcyclists for 18 years, and senior observer for 14 of them.
Left about 4 years ago to compete in Moto gymkhana. I've never had so much fun in first gear. And my bike handling skills has grown so much.
I've been using a 99 hornet 600 for the last 3 years, but just before Christmas I sold it to a pair of friends who are wanting to start the sport this year, and bought my 99 R6.
It's completely different, and to be honest not the best bike for our sprint stop turn sprint sport. But as ive bought it and have no money to swap it, I'm out to prove it can be competitive.

Here's my run 2 from Saturday's first gymkhana comp.
I finished 9h over all, and got a bronze medal on the novice podium.
