Newbie

Post by schlafen »

Hi there everyone, this is not my first post, is my 2nd one.

Discovered this forum recently by chance, and my first post was a reply to petepassion's old post.

I own a honda vfr 400z nc21 which I got for less than most people spend over a weekend on booze. It's my project bike now.

When I got it

I don't own a yamaha atm but hope I will own one in the near future, got my eyes on a MT09.

In my first post I got carried away a bit as I am looking to do a swingarm swap on the vfr400 to put a 5.5/17/180 on the rear, to replace the 3.5/18/130 that is on there now.
Was looking for a potential swingarm donor for ages even considered using a chopped one when ran out of ideas.

Here's a picture of the bike as it sits now with the stock rear end

So when I've seen petepassion's vfr750 with a 5.5 wheel and stock vfr750 swinger on I felt all sorts of tingly and fuzzy inside, registered and replied in a matter of seconds.

From my understanding the swingarms are a straight swap.
I have the measurements of the swingarm now.

The wheel that I'm planning to use is a GSR600 5.5/17/180, could go for a 170 tyre no problem.

I assume most people are asleep by now reading this but anyway this is my intro, not alot about me just rambling about my bike.

Hope to post here again soon with the swing arm sorted.
