just joined Newbie

Post by jayj »

Hi, just joined and wanted to say hello. Recently traded up my R6 to a R1 (14b) and loving it. much more tractable at lower revs, doesn't need thrashing all the time but is there when you wan to. Its a beautiful bike, full Lorenzo replica (sad he's moved on....) in red and white. Its got a few mods, adjustable levers and de baffled, tail tidy and carbon indicators. I have a decaf y pipe waiting to go on and am looking for a set of akros (at the right price please anyone :) )
Ive only been riding on the road for 4 months (motocross) and i am loving it, so much so my wife is now doing her DS too so we can do a little bit of touring together.
Age is never a barrier to the things you wan trot do - its a mind set...
Anyway, ill post some pics and you can judge for yourself..

Nice to be here.

J

Welcome in mate. Once the Akras are on it will sound so good. Enjoy and take your time to adjust to the R1.

Welcome to the forum Jay, and congratulations on getting your 14b, please let me explain what monkey face (akaJompy) meant when he called your bike a sausage, yes as a primate we have to expect his drol sense if humour, and the fact he is one of the biases and if we don't provide him with fresh fruit each day he falls out of his tree

Anyway that's another story.......

Jompy called the Big Bang R1's sausages because in his brain Big Bang = banger and banger is a sausage, hence the big bangs are sausages, I think he was a dog that worked for Walls in a former life

Anyway welcome to the firum and our quintessential British sense of humour.

Oh and you are right, age is no barrier, it's what's up top, I may be old but I feel young inside :D

Welcome to the forum, any questions just ask

Hey all, now I've taken the cat off the pipes are straight through and it feels a little jerky low down. Tim at h&t says a power commander and remap will sort it out and remove restrictions. I could just get a Dyno run and remap saving about 75 quid. The pc route is about 550. What do you recommend?
Appreciate your comments
