Thanks for the warm welcome guys
I'm pleased with how the bike looks, as when I picked it up it looked like this:
I sprayed the fairings and applied stickers and considering I'm not very mechanically minded, I was happy with the outcome!

I havent done many bike trackdays mate (done many car ones but I'm back on bikes now) - in fact I'm a relative newbie with only doing one bike day at Oulton last August, but the bug has bitten me... so we're off to Donington on 3rd April! I've had a few sports bikes in the past but mainly of the Suzuki variety... first big bike was a Suzuki blandit 600, then onto a GSXR 600 K4, then 750 K4, then SV1000 (silly me), then a break from biking and onto cars, then back to bikes with a Hornet 600, then an Aprilia Tuono, then a GSXR 600 K2 which I used at Oulton and is now for sale now that the R1 has landed! I must say, I'm very impressed with the build quality of the Yam.

...Is Rothbury still a fave for 2 wheelers?
I'm in Alnwick mate and yes, we're very spoilt for roads! Rothbury is 10 minutes away and is definitely still a favourite and can hardly get moved on Sundays for bikes, which is nice. My favourite run is up through Wooler and Kelso then down to Carter Bar over the borders, taking in Kielder if there's time! I can imagine the R1 will be a blast around there
Thanks guys - hopefully meet some of you at some point
