Re: Newbie
Welcome to the forum Pete, short but sweet opening post, the 5vy is a cracking R1 with awsome looks, tell us about your biking history, how you arrived at buying an R1, what drew you to her, it's a great way for us to get to know you and vice versa.

I'm just about ready to buy those LighTech rearsets you've been promoting. Few beers tonight with the laptop and I'll have probably done it [emoji12]. Feel free to encourage me. Not in TTH's post tho I suppose [emoji846]

Re: Newbie
Hi all thanks for the welcomes. The biking history.... Got into bikes when still at school, friends and me started to buy bikes from the local tip( arh the classic chicken chaser moped!) we used to ride them in the woods which got me interested in off road. Lots of grovelling to parents and paper rounds and I managed to get a secondhand yz80 which I think was a 1981 and started schoolboy moto x. Raced for a few years until buggering my knee quite badly
didn't ride much again until passing test in 2001. First road bike rvf400 which was a great bike but soon felt a little slow. Sold to get a 1999 fireblade( I know another Honda- but that first r1 wouldn't have been so good without those blades!) can't lie it was a brilliant bike and had some good times on it. A friend had a r1 and wanted the blade and to cut a long story short it's still what I have now after 9 years. Still think it's the best mix of r1- looks-power and weight but I haven't ridden the late models so could stand corrected! A few broken bones later and it's better condition than me! Also have a converted supermoto which if anyone hasn't had a go on one you definitely should

By the time you've added the break switch and VAT they're up there with the Gilles and R&G but still prefer them.LOCKE wrote:The LighTech rearsets look the business.Horus-222_R1 wrote:AhaRRRR me hearty.
