R1m newbie. (Info needed) uk
Hi everyone just bought a r1m I've come over from honda had the NC30 & NC35 great bikes but time to move on. Maybe a big step lol.
My question is I went to the dealership to see the bike but I thought the r1m came with a carbon rear cowl where the data logger sits but mine has just the seat and when I asked the sale man he didn't know about?
Should the bike come with one or do I need to buy on?
Cheers

Hi and welcome mate, I hope it wasn't a Yamaha dealer that said that!
It should come with a carbon cowl in which the GPS unit sits, and a normal passenger seat. I'd ask for one as they're not cheap!
You should find the R1M easy to ride.

Hi mate and welcome to the forum, as Boz says they come with both the pillion pad and the carbon fibre seat cowl with the data logger.... you can see it on mine in the pics below

Thanks for the warm welcome. Now for the really stupid questions lol, with they bike they are trying to sell all the extras like gap insurance and have a tracker fitted which all sounds like a good idea. The gap insurance I can get a lot cheaper online but is there any point in a tracker as I believe the data logger is gps so could that be used to find the bike or does it not work like that?

The GPS data logger on the bike won't track the bike if stolen, I too have a tracker fitted for peace of mind.Isca87 wrote:Thanks for the warm welcome. Here is a photo. Looks just like all the R1M's lol.
I've taken off the rear hangers and put in a cardboard for safe keeping apart from that it's all standard.
