Hi everyone

Post by a10dr »

Hello everyone, I'm Dean from Doncaster, UK. Just joined the forum and bought my first crossplane R1 less than a month ago. So far I absolutely love it and have covered 1000 miles on it. The cross plane engine is like nothing else. I initially came to the forum though as I've noticed it has the dreaded CCT start up rattle  .

Hope to chat to you all soon and maybe meet some fellow R1'ers.

Welcome to the forum mate and congrats on the banger. Great community here and sure someone will help out with that one. On a 2013 myself but not had that issue or heard of it tbh.

Welcome, the bike looks good. A manual tensioner should fix the CCT problem but best you wait for the crossplane experts on that one.

Thanks for the warm welcome :), I normally use j&s for buying bits and important servicing. I'm popping over there this afternoon to check the price of the oem CCT and whether it's ok to still run as I'm meant to be at cadwell tomorrow evening.

Someone may correct me if I'm wrong but I think it's something to do with the first model tensioner not getting enough oil pressure on cold start ups so it causes the cam chain to be slack.
