Hi all / Bonjour !
Hi everyone !
I’m a newcomer from France. I just bought a blue R1 2020 and am very happy to share with you my impressions on this bike.
Weirdly I couldn’t find any forum like yours in France.
This is my first Yamaha and japonese bike as I had a Ducati 899 before.
Lets see !!
Cheers

Re: Hi all / Bonjour !
Bonjour Nicolas and welcome to our biking community, as the guys have said we look after each other on here and we welcome our European cousins joining us.
Our sense of humour is an acquired taste, but we have a laugh and all get along (mostly)
You may have noticed there is quite a strong Red is fast Blue is slow debate on here, it’s all in good humour, and to be fair, non of us mere mortals can ride an R1 to its limit, irrespective of colour .
I will be interested on hearing your thoughts on your new bike, I have a 2016 model and she is amazing, she is the size and weight of an R6, has the first class handling and cornering ability of the R6 yet with the power of an R1. They are an amazing bike to ride, an easy bike to ride and do so rewarding, I absolutely love mine.
So welcome to our biking community, join in, laugh with us and give as good as you get
Stephen

Re: Hi all / Bonjour !
Thank you all for your warm welcome to your brotherhood. I will do my best to post and share regularly.
I understand to keep up with your acute sens of humor [emoji3]
Bikewise the 899 is a gorgeous bike, no argue on that, and is very easy to handle. The reasonable power makes is much more friendly than her big sister. I could put her to her pace without fear on trackdays.
The R1 that I tried on track last year is another animal : evenmore nimble and much more powerfull !!
I just bought mine to a very reasonable price to a 68 years old man ( yeah !) with 1000km. I’m still waiting to get it because of confinement.
I will ad a few bits to it also, but it looks like that for the moment

And that was the 899
