Hello Everybody

Post by stepheng_2010 »

Whatshappening, newbie to the forum so thought I'd drop a post and say Hi.
Currently got a mint 4c8 after selling both my 5JJ which I owned for 6 years and my Gixxer K1 600 track bike. Loved both these bikes especially the 5JJ and spent far too much hard earned cash on them, I'll have to load up some pics as, to me at least, they still look the muts nuts. I've owned the 4c8 for couple of months now and I've fallen in love all over again ;) At first I missed the low down grunt of the 5JJ but soon realised I just needed to adjust my riding style and make sure I keep the Rev's up near the Red Line as much as possible so now I don't even really notice the missing torque at bottom end. The only thing that really bothers me with the 4c8 is the delay on throttle response but I do have a plan....Just bought Flash Tune Interface from R1Mike (top bloke btw!) so will be having a play to try sort that small issue, also have the Akra De-cat (another reason for the FT kit) which I will be fitting this weekend to compliment the Akra Carbon Slip on's that I fitted immediately after buying the bike. I've got a few other goodies to stick on this weekend too (Stomp Grips, Titax Levers and lots of R&G bits) so its gonna be a pretty busy and fun weekend, well that's as long as the mrs don't find out how much I spent this week! Still even if she does find out and pisses on my bonfire it'll be worth the agro if the bike rides half as sweet as I'm hoping ;)
Anyway enough waffling, time for bed me thinks.
Hopefully I'll catch up with some of you lot later on and will most likely be asking for some advice here and there.

Welcome in m8, the pipe and flash tune will really help with low down grunt, you will notice a vast improvement with mid range as well

Post some pics if you get some time

Cheers for the warm welcome Lads :D Hope everyone had a good weekend and those that were lucky enough to have a spell of good weather made the most of it, I for one definitely did ;)

Apart from that I fitted everything except the De-cat. I was slightly concerned about flashing my original ECU so I took a chance and bought a 'faulty' ECU that I got for next to nothing (well almost, £50 plus a tenner postage), came with a full lock set and all keys too. Anyway It arrived today and I'm pleased to say my gamble paid off as FT was able to Re-flash the software and its now all working perfectly, put on some custom maps and since FT disables the immobiliser my original Keys work too, Touch! So now I've got that all sorted I'll be fitting the De-cat tomorrow hopefully.

I've added a couple of pics of my old 5jj R1 (in my album) for anyone that's interested. I'll upload some pics of my new 4c8 r1 when I get a chance to give it a clean and take some descent photo's. Haven't bothered uploading any pics of the k1 gixxer since this is Yamaha forum.

Cheers Mate, my 4c8 is Graphite Grey with bits of Carbon here n there. Pretty much the same as your Banner m8!

I'll check back in soon and upload some pics of the 4c8 and let whoevers interested know my opinion of the performance gains from using FT and 3/4 system.

For those that are interested I have updated my Gallery with a few photos of my 4c8.
I've also left some feedback regarding the FlashTune in the Customer testimonials part of FT section.
