hi all, joined the forum a few weeks ago and not posted till i got my first R1. Only passed my test in may and jumped straight on the big boys toys... looking forward to getting some good knowledge from you guys and some advice on some mods i maybe contemplating..
Dan.
Hi dan,
That's very brave of you . The r1 is my second "big" bike. I started off with a 650 and can say with a 100 percent confidence that I would have had a massive high side if I had made the mistake I made riding the 650 on the r1

welcome in bud.........restriction kit, stabilizers, air bags,
haha, yeah didn't really want to get a R1 as a first bike. The bike was my dad's and its been stood in the garage for the last 5 years!!! managed to talk my dad into letting me have it as i didn't have cash available to purchase an R6. Been riding for 2 weeks now and really have a feel for the bike. Just taking it steady for now as there are so many clueless drivers about.
A few of us from derby then.. thanks guys for comments, I've allready had the pep talk from my old man.. only real use is getting to and from work and back. A short blast up the a38 to toyota. Hopefully try and get a decent ride out to some bike meets
Welcome in Mate, you are braver man than me. That said closest thing to an R1 when I passed my test was probably a GPZ900R
As others have said just take it easy.
