Welcome in Barry
If you haven't got a steering damper get one especially if your going to ride it hard , regularly check the Exup valve is moving freely & if you do strip the Exup be careful not to sheer off the studs , lots of stuff in the forum about the 4xv , your gonna love it

hi,
thanks to all for the welcome.....cheers. jompy, ive got a ohlins damper which I put on in july think theres something wrong with it tho cos it made the bike pull to one side. took it off the same day !!.
the bike is standard apart from yosh silencer, clip ons, shorty levers, mini indicators. ....now what I ve bought for it so far is .. full 4-1 akra, ivans jet kit, new standard filter, carbon fibre;- chain guard, hugger, front guard, frame covers, heel plates, tank guard. got an undertray and led rear light, mini chrome indicators, carbon hell brake lines, 30 mm lowering kit, seats been recovered, and cut out slightly. etc etc, I ll post pics when I work out how to do it !! all that stuff is going on when it comes of the rd. anyone have any ideas why the damper pulls ?? I ll post the se questions on the forum, de-exup-ing how does that effect bottom end ?lol
cheers

Re: hi all
Hey bud , try getting your damper serviced I think someone said it was about £50 but I'm not sure , as for binning the Exup, some have done it & not had a prob but I believe it then needs to be set up on a dyno or you'll struggle pulling off below 2000rpm , you will loose a little bottom end . If I'm wrong someone will put me right , there's a big divide in people about looking the Exup .bart99r1 wrote:hi,

Personally I feel Yamaha spent a lot of money developing the Exup valve for a reason & it does it's job well
