Well, I used to have a GSXR 1000 K6 which I loved but I got caught up in the romance of the adventure bike market. So I sold the GSXR and bought a new Triumph Explorer with intention of travelling the world on it, Furthest I got was IOM. I realised the error of my ways and sold it and bought myself a blue with gold wheels 2008 R1 with 5k on the clock.

I did like the Trumpet but i prefer the inline four of sports bikes, I have read about getting the ecu flashed on hear and some bloke called mike seems to be involved a lot is it something he does privately on here? and what exactly will it do to my bike? I have bought but not fitted a 16t front sprocket which i hope to fit this w end.

When Yamaha build a bike they use generic settings ( map ) for your bike I've been led to believe due to emission settings the bikes not running to its optimum and the maps that Mike has will make a big improvement to how the bike runs , low speeds & improved midrange are a couple of the improvements. Also more settings can be altered/adjusted than if you were to use a power commander . This is my interpretation from what I've read for more & better info goto the velox section of the forum
