Petepassion from Portsmouth

Post by petepassion »

Hello, hope you're all well,
I've just bought my old R1 14B back. Originally sold it to a mate 18 months ago to buy a V rod and learn how to chill. I have now chilled quite enough, and although I'm keeping the V rod, I just had to have the old girl back. As you know, with the two Bros cans and decat they sound friggin awesome and arouses me in a way no man made machine should ever do.
So here's a short vid, although very tame as I have to re-learn my riding skills again(plus it was damp, getting dark and I was stupidly wearing a dark visor, excuses, excuses...)

Cheers, Pete.

Cheers guys, Steve or Pete, it doesn't really matter, I get called both, it's only a name anyway and they're both the same person.
V rod? I don't listen to only one style of music, so why restrict yourself with one style of bike just because of social protocol. It just depends on mood, there's so much out there to experience, live life I say and don't worry too much about the limited views of others.
Was out early this morning on the R1...boy am I rusty.
Cheers, Pete.

Theres a few of us . . . . . . . ok alot of us on here with more than one bike from crossers to motards , four strokes , two strokes , inline 4's , v twins , single , you name it .
Personally i have half an R1 , a supermoto & a trailie that i'm desperate to rebuild so i can go greenlaning again !

definitely true what they say " variety is the spice of life "

Cheers Steve, will do.

Jompy...Like the idea of greenlaning but I'm a short arsed, clumsy oaf on bikes, so reckon I'd bust too many bones.
Less chance of crashing the R1(but unfortunately more chance of killing myself)
Cheers, Pete.

Pete you'd be surprised you can get some good low trail bikes like the serrow , it's not about power & speed its about torque , technique & balance , it can teach a fair bit for on road riding & as for being clumsy trail/dirt bikes are made for being dropped , if you don't fall off your not having fun ;)

Oh I see.
That's no 2-stroke, that's an old VFR750 street fighter I've been building over the past few years. Just a fill in job when work is quiet...don't get many quiet spells though.
R6 shock, GSXR1100 wheels and forks, 916 seat unit, custom built subframe, Z1000 cambell pipes with custom made link pipes and mounts, VFR400 tank, GSXR1000k9 headlamp and so on...

So why are they called 'sausage'? dare I ask....

Love streetfighters if they're done well, bought mine as a supposedly finished and roadworthy streetfighter...didn't take long to rip it apart and start rebuilding properly.
Sausage=big banger... of course, Thanks.

Depends on your definition of streetfighter , mine is old school , take fairing & clip ons off add risers & renthals . I hate the blingy Wurlitzer types with the curved back ends sticking in the air , calling bandits , hornets & GSX1400's streetfighters is also wrong . Went to a streetfighters owners club rally & they had a blinged up hyabusa with extended swing arm , blinged up Katrina , hornets , bandits all glittery & crap . Mine needs a lot of tidying up & a new headlight unit but I love it

When you build it yourself and see it to completion it must hold a special place in your heart even if the man stood beside you dislikes it.

Er , well, the VFR is kinda a bit of a grey area, the ownership is a little vague...when the good wife asks...ahem.
When finished, it'll probably be sold anyway.

I have no definition of what a streetfighter should be, I either like it or not. Not really into the multiple off the shelf bling as you say, seems to kill the whole point of trying to create your own bike, I prefer a little imagination without blatantly following the current trends or maybe rough 'n rugged, but hey, each to their own.
