Re: S/YORKS NEWBIE.
Hi Andy and welcome to the forum. At 50 you are a tad over our average age, which is 40 but you are not as old as PJC, Luke or Jon...... Or is that not as young as them...... Sorry at my age I get a tad confused, tried to start the r1 with the horn this morning..... Was wondering why the bike kept on going beep beep instead of pop bang veroooom .... Still when you get to my age you will understand.
To be fair this really is a great site and the younger members......that's all of them ......look after us oldies. Great sense of humour...... But they still don't understand mine, tons of knowledge about r1's and someone will always know the answer to any question you may have ..... It might not be the right answer..... But bless them they will have a go.
So welcome to the best forum this side of the Milky Way we are all mad about Yamaha's.... Some of us are just mad.... But that's another story.
Anyway a warm welcome and at the age of 50.... Believe me you are still a young un.

Hi all, just received new air filter this morn off a well known auction site (you know the one).just got to get my head round the task of the plugs next.it looks as though the radiator has never been off and all the bolts and fittings have got SNAP ME !!!!!!!!!! written all over them
.or do any of you wise ones know an easier way.

Re: S/YORKS NEWBIE.

Re: S/YORKS NEWBIE.
Don't you take the tank off & get to the plugs that way ? i know i have a 4xv but i thought they were all the same ish !
i was told removing the plugs was hard & you needed a special tool but i used the plug socket with a wobbly extension then an extension bar another wobbly & then one last extension bar & it worked fine

Re: S/YORKS NEWBIE.
Thanks to all for advise on plug removal.do the connectors on the top of the coils come off and is access easy with radiator off,or is there something else to remove.the two inner ones look like a right pain.

Re: S/YORKS NEWBIE.
Hi,thanks for the offer to pop over.I am working over weekend, will have a go through the week and if I get stuck I will deffo give you a shout.most of the 4c8 forums are saying you have to go from under the frame either side after dropping radiator as you can't get to them under the tank.unless anybody knows diferent.

Re: S/YORKS NEWBIE.
Hi all.been looking on youtube and various sites, and the majority of them say the easiest way is to drop the lower fairing panels off and the rad forward.probably need a set of fingers shaped like budgies feet to get in though.will have a go next week (working weekend) and let you know.
