I've not had a problem taking the headers off but then again I have no fairings 
Not sure they would be any better than a magnetic sump plug tbh

Yes it was a magnet in the end.
You may also notice some subtle fettling on the filter which was just enough to avoid exhaust removal.

Good that you didn't have to take the headers off. What an absolutely pointless thing to fit.

I'm sure that is something the filter would have caught anyway.
I don't know how long it was on there.
My brother had owned it since 2006, but he died in May so as one might expect, I can't ask him.....
