Hi Guys

I don't mid at all, Last had a bike when I was 17 I am now 59 did my test again 3 years ago, Then go t Honda Hornet , then a CB1000r, but only did 1000ml on it as did not know any one to go out for run with, my girl friend hates bikeS so she will never go on it, and if she did the front wheel would life off the ground , so that's that

But I like bikes

Keep the bike in the house and the girlfriend in the shed

Welcome to the forum mate, you've made an excellent choice with the 4C8, the are an extremely rewarding bike. They are excellent standard but if you don't mind spending a couple of quid on it for stuf such as a remap and maybe some better fork internals you can turn a great bike into an brilliant bike.

I'm sure you'll love it but as previously mentioned take your time to check it over,

Thanks again, I like the sound of that, "in the shed"

Any particular things I should look for, so I can write them down for Thursday. Yes a few changes would be something I will do, what is the main ones and where to get them, As for Friday I will not get shot of it as its been a long time since I had a race bike, I had a track 250 Bultacko road racer 6 speed water cooled single cylinder at 17 but it broke at a race, Scottish guy I used to know Roy Shirlaw raced Yamaha and he help a bit with the bike

Welcome to the forum Robert and congratulations on the purchase of your 4c8, like your girlfriend, my wife hates bikes with a passion, however I'm just about to pick up my sixth R1 this week also. The bike stars in the garage, my wife in the house, believe me, it does actually work better that way and you don't end up with any scars

When you pick her up take your time to get used to her, she has a lot of power and you will need to get used to that, just dont try pinning the throttle everywhere, it will end in disaster or a mess in your pants

Enjoy the bike and the forum, we have a lot of good humoured banter on here, any questions just ask, someone will have the answer

To post pics either use tap talk from your smart phone it photobucket, the links below should help

4c8 is the model code for 2007-8

5vy is 2005-6
2009 - 11 is 14B
2012- 14 is 14BE

Welcome to hell, enjoy.

Don't go pissing around with modifications until you have a feel for this bike, for some it's more than enough, for others, it needs a tweek or two.

Where are you ? Maybe one of our boys can look the bike over for you ?

Hi Guys

Thanks for the info but to post pics looks difficult for me , I have pics of the bike I am getting to show you guys and that nice thought to get someone to check the bike would be good but I live in Montrose Scotland and not sure if anyone lives is up my way. If any one has a email address I could send them the pics of the bike I am getting and maybe someone could post then on the forum for me and you may know the bike as the number plate is on the bike in the pics.

If not then no problem
