Re: Hello
Hey Macca. Welcome.
My pal has an s1000rr. They are lovely bikes although he has had some reliability issue. How have you found yours? Are you gonna trade for an r1?

Re: Hello
Hi Phil, welcome mate. I've just had a couple of S1000RRs the first one was a Friday afternoon special as it broke down on me about 5 times. Had an electrical fault that the dealer could not get to the bottom of so I pretty much chucked that back at them, I'd traded in a beautiful anniversary 5vy R1 that I loved for it too, was gutted! Anyway they(bmw) replaced the bike with another brand new one. That bike was fine and very capable yet somehow (and I struggled to put my finger on it) it just felt very clinical with not much personality (only my point of view) like I said nothing actually wrong with the bikes.
Now the R1, totally different beast altogether
I'd not even test ridden one before I bought my M but boy oh boy it's a revelation, I felt right at home from the off, the main difference is the motor is silky smooth over the beemer which had an annoying vibe at 4K revs where I seemed to spend a lot of time, made my hands go to sleep sometimes. The midrange power the R1 has is also much better than the beemer too. I could go on but it would sound like I'm having a go at the beemer which I'm not as I know how capable they are..but you should get an R1, guess I'm a little biased but I love mine

Do not confuse my personality with my attitude. My personality is who I am. My attitude depends on who you are............

Re: Hello
Thanks for the welcome lads, I'm on my second S1000, I've had the '15 model for over a year now, its a brilliant bit of kit but I I've had the chance to try a few other bikes recently, '16 ZX10, 1299s and latest R1, all impressive bikes in their own way but I and was pleasantly surprised by the R1 as I thought it would be too uncompromising. I test rode one that had been traded in at a dealer, so well run in, jerky, annoying throttle response at low revs in modes B&C but spot on in mode A which made me think it must have been re-mapped? Well impressed with the power, handling, soundtrack and raw feeling the bike had, missed the autoblipper though, looks like there are some aftermarket option though? Came away with a big grin on my face and wondering whether it was time to get another R1 (owned 2 in the past).

Re: Hello
Welcome in mate. There are plenty of new R1 owners and a few S1000RR owners also on here so plenty feed back to gain.
