Not that I'm aware of, I know some people have part exchanged their 2015 bike for a 2016 model at a decent price
Welcome to the forum Jonathan, I guess you are not too happy with your bike, any problems post recall?
Pop over to the newbie section and post a hello thread, tell us about your biking history, that way we can get to know you and you can get to know us, thus is a great friendly firum, members like to help each other! If a bike breaks we scour our garages to find parts to help fix it , and it works very well, hell one if our members traveled from Northumberland to somewhere down south to pick up a bike that a member bought whilst he was working in Spain, the guy even paid for the bike..... This is how supportive and helpful we are, we are not a forum, rather a community of bikers. So any questions just ask
So welcome Jonathan, how are you finding your R1

Loving the bike its a 2015 R1M, just don't want my local dealer pulling it apart in a workshop I wouldn't keep chickens in ??
I'm a mechanic and not sure if I could get the parts and do the work myself.
They took 3 months to do the update on the dash (Battery drain problem when comms unit not shutting down) as they didn't have a laptop that could do it.
Doesn't fill me with confidence.

Would suspect Yamaha UK would not agree to just giving parts but even if they did the remainder of any warrany you have would then be an issue for anything that could be seen as related to the engine / gearbox. You are a mechanic so that is a risk you may be ok with but I can't help feeling a better approach would be to take your bike to a dealer who had better trained technicians and better facilites.concept46 wrote:Loving the bike its a 2015 R1M, just don't want my local dealer pulling it apart in a workshop I wouldn't keep chickens in ??

I am sure others could give recommendations of dealers that have already done the job to their satisfaction on this forum.
Just my opinion of course but hope all goes ok whatever you do.

As OB says, take it to another Yamaha dealer, there are some good ones out there , the M is a fantastic machine
