Welcome aboard.

Really, you'd swap a 1098 for an R1? Somethings seriously wrong there...

You won't be seeing significantly more mileage from an R1. ;-)

You gotta take into consideration that the 1098 has 2.5 litres less capacity though ;)

Welcome m8, nice bike but as you know missing a service will be the end of her   the R1 is our choice but with such a difference between models it will defo pay to try them all out, could be a fun day 8-) 8-) Enjoy our little bit of strangeness :shifty:

What model of R1 do you fancy, long bang 14b or screaming 16 valve 4c8 or maybe a little older 20 valve mota

Tuck in behind me, i'll show you the best place to crash

Stopped drinking, smoking, taking drugs and running sex parties, luckily ive still bikes to corrupt me 8-)

Last year I test rode the new R1, I was pretty much blown away by the raw power of the thing, I also saw pretty high figures on the speedo in a pretty short distance, but my local dealer only had one available with over 12000 on the clock, I would have bought one if lower mileage, I also saw a 1098, fell in love and bought it, it's my 4th Ducati, it's almost like a slower version of the R1 but a lot more refined and gentlemanly IMHO, I have owned a early R1, a T plate edition, in the faster blue colour, and I rode it over Europe, via Belgium to Le Mans, I've made a few bling purchases for the 1098, and I love the look of it, but still can't get over the tank range frustration, I'm off to the IOM this year, but thinking about Europe next year which wouldn't be great with the limited range, so that gas brought me back to the R1 again, last year I rode my monster 796 to Italy without problems, so I'll have a look round and see what I do :)

I had mine fitted with an 18.6 ltr Carbon Fiber tank, and It would do similar miles to a jap bike.
Pity the clutch gave me arm pump.
