Re: Hello all!!
Welcome to the forum Rob, Great avatar
those bangers are fantastic on the track
, I see you have the red framed model, you will become Locke aka Colin's best friend, he loves the red framed R1s.
Any questions just ask, this forum is a wealth of useful knowledge, and someone's will always have an answer to any questions you may have, (someone is a really clever bugger lol)
Anyway welcome, oh and as Paul says, tell us about your biking history, what you had before your R1, what you like about your R1 and what you are not so keen on.
Stephen

Re: Hello all!!
Welcome in mate from another red framed owner. They are a few more on here but they lie low due to pink frame insults!

Re: Hello all!!
Been riding for about 4 years. Started off on 1989 cbr then to a gsxr K1 and for the last year I have been enjoying my R1 which I intend to keep for many more years. Only thing I dislike about it is that when sat at a traffic light or slow moving is the heat from the exhaust cooks my balls. I have been looking in to fitting a Y pipe but been told I need to get a power commander which I don't really want to fork out the money for. Never heard anyone call the frame pink before but that must be why the women love it so much[emoji38]

Re: Hello all!!
I decatted my banger because it almost melted my leg, so I know what you mean, I did have a power commander V though. Locke also fitted the Y piece and ran the bike without a power commander fir a couple of years, but he has one now , do Colin will be able to tell you what the y piece without the PCV is like

Re: Hello all!!
How much louder is it with a Y pipe? I got the akra carbon cans now and no baffles and it wasn't far off failing the db testing at the track.Steve R1 wrote:I decatted my banger because it almost melted my leg, so I know what you mean, I did have a power commander V though. Re: Hello all!!
Ackra s, y pipe and no baffles my bike would generally make between 99 and 101 db at oulton park, I always got the noise test done on a warm engine as for some reason it made it quieter. She never failed a noise test at oulton or donington, the only tracks I took her onSpencer R109 wrote:How much louder is it with a Y pipe?
