Please post some pics of her as we love pics on here, also tell us about your biking history, what bikes you have owned, what you liked about them, what wasn't so good, what made you choose an R1 and what you think your new toy will be like, I don't want to spoil it, but you have bought an awesome bike [emoji3]....

Thanks everyone for such a friendly welcome. Very excited about getting the bike, bought it about 7 weeks ago but asked if I could wait for the new reg, but it has seemed the longest 7 weeks of my life so far!! Been to the dealers twice since just to look at it!!
Steve asked for some background. I've had bikes since I was 17 (a long time ago!) starting with a 125 Superdream, and had LC's, TZR250, ZXR750, ZX9, Fireblade, Firestorm and MV F3 since. Fell in love with R1 60th when I first saw it but only recently decided to part with the cash to celebrate my 50th. Other than it being obviously an awesome bike, I was a massive Kenny Roberts fan as a youth so couldn't resist.
Very tempted buy the venture shield, however dealer is recommending a Hybridx nano coating which protects all metal bits and paint from dirt and corrosion but not sure if it stops chip like the film. Its £300 so not cheap, anyone else heard of it?
Also after some GB racing engine protectors, does anyone know of any discounts?
Hope to get to meet some of you in the summer at a café run or BSB round

Cheers

Jon

Nice write up Jon

Ive not heard of the Hybridx nano coating, but I do know venture shield is worth its weight in gold, if you are going to get it fitted, do it before you take the bike out, that way she is protected from the off :D

Oh not long to go now before 1st March arrives :D

Original suggestion (RedJJ) was with stone chips in mind. The Anni's on here at least suffering more than most. The venture shield will help no end.

I have Venture Shield fitted on my M and have never used wax or similar to polish it with. I use GTekniq coatings C1 and C2 on my bike instead and Dodo Juice to wash it with. The finish is excellent. :)
