Newbie - JT1306

Post by JT1306 »

Hi all,

It took me a while but I finally found my way to this new forum!

I bought myself a 1998 R1 trackbike towards the end of last year and have just returned from my first trackday last thursday at Brands. It was a little wet in the morning but I managed to negotiate the track without any wet tyres. A rather exciting new way to get to know the new bike, especially as all my previous track riding has been on a SV650.

Anyway, just wanted to say hi and I'm sure you'll all see a bit more of me around these parts.

James

Thanks for the messages all.

Currently the only mods are an ohlins steering damper and ART exhaust. I have just bought a second set of wheels with full wets on and will be picking those up this weekend.

Are there any key mods that you would recommended I look at?

Thanks

You already have the steering damper,so a suspension set up would be good, and a good set of tyres obviously,on mine ive got the K&N,Promotive pipe,Harris fuel cap, quick action throttle, aftermarket clip ons,Crash mushrooms,NRC engine cases(good idea these),steering damper, double bubble, carbon bits, braided lines blah blah blah, but they came with the bike, they aint really needed, but as they were already fitted im happy with it(mines a 4XV),ive since bought a laptimer too, with handlebar switch, but i havent fitted that yet,and also a Braced swingarm, second set of wheels, spare fairings/seat units, just need some wet tyres now
Like i say,not all necerssary, but nice to have
