Hiya,
Mick from Oxfordshire here, hoping to gain some infor on compatable parts through the R1 range, but before I start firing questions I thought Id introduce myself. I grew up on Yamahas, but had a couple suzis, one being a GSXR 600 back in 99 and now have a coupe of XJR 1300's and a 79 RD400. I'd love an R1 but my back won't take it, but I am trying to use parts from the R1 on to my XJR, so hope this does not go against the grain with you guys.
I will read throu your forums and try to find answers prior to asking questions that may be deemed lazy.
Thanks
Mick

Re: New Bee
Welcome to the forum Mick,
Above all we are a biking forum, although we love R1’s we know they are not to everyone’s tastes. We therefore welcome all bikes, even hondas and Jompy’s butchered R1, which is known on here as “the half 1”
The guys n gals on here are very knowledgeable, indeed, what they don’t know about bikes isn’t worth knowing.
Ask any questions you wish, we like to help people on here and Jompy is really good at knowing where to find stuff on here if that particular subject has been covered in the past.
Good luck with your project
Welcome

Welcome to the forum Mick, im a XJR fan myself although ive never owned one.
You could always buy a R1 streetfighter, the Fazer 1000 uses the Mk1 R1 engine and you can pick them up for silly prices, and dont forget the MT10 if you are looking newer.
There a plenty of Mk1 R1's about that have been streetfighter converted again at good prices.
