Hey from Glasgow!
Recently bought an old ex race 4xv from Northern Ireland - popped a daytime on it and rode it back to Scotland. I plan to do some exciting/radical things to it over the winter incl: new subframe/seat unit - alloy endurance tank - engine blueprint/flowed... I want it to still look like an R1..but like it's on steroids - fat/minimal..

Uh huh the GSXR11'S are proper addictive, owned four of them - two were 1216's, one a Bob Farnham motor and the other a Mistral Performance motor ...crank connected to the back wheel material! Love the torque they produce..

Thanks guys

I'm designing a GP-style minimal subframe cage for the R1 - it'll be a bolt together and bolt on job ..obviously the existing sub will be removed and fixing points set in place to take the new unit. It's a very simple DIY job..if you can get past the initial freaky moment of chopping your bike to bits with a grinder
This is my current mockup of the bike - I'm getting an R1M race seat unit delivered tomorrow and I'll be setting it in place to see how it looks...the wavy side flashes of the M unit will be getting removed and I'll be going with the minimal dart look..which looks a lot like a cross between a 2006 R6 and an RC8 seat unit. Interesting stuff, so I'll pop up an image tomorrow
Subframe will look a lot like this un:

The Korean BMW is an absolute peach of a build! M1 replica sounds interesting..although I do find the overall appearance of them a bit boxy.
