cheers luke03r1,hi guys jst joined yesterday and am looking for anyone with a 2000 r1 who,s had any probs with their bike being starved of fuel,me bike developed this annoying trend a couple of years ago,wen the bikes hot the idling drops then it cuts out, also if the bikes temp is over 70 and you turn off the engine it wont start until it has cooled rite down,it really struggles to start and it sounds as if the engine is being starved of fuel,i kno a guy with a zx10 who has the same prob and he called it carb sync, not sure wot this means, any helpful hints or tips wud be mucho appreciated ,cheers all, safe riding ,bladebuster,i,ve also had the carbs stripped, cleaned and balanced but the problem is still there,

Welcome in Paul

Carb sync is what it implies syncing the carbs so they work together, eg balancing.

Anyway enjoy the forum and I am sure help will be along soon

Not starting when hot could be problems with the valve clearances, possibly needs the shims checked.
How many miles on it and have the valve clearances ever been done?
