Welcome in Wayne, sorry to hear about the engine. I would want to know exactly what has caused the issue before rebuilding the mota, if that is not possible then replace with a guaranteed unit

Welcome Wayne.
Only 10,000mls and its done a main bearing? Bloody odd that.
You better do some serious searching for the cause mate before simply dropping in another bearing.

10k miles is not high mileage, like others have said you need to find out what caused it.

My guess would be oil starvation, main bearings rarely let go if there running in oil, youd be amazed how little time it takes to do a main bearing with no oil around it, anybody who ran the first 4 stroke KTM single cylinder road and motox bikes and pulled a wheelie lasting longer than 20 seconds found out the hard way lol, Captain had a 5VY go bang and all, imtrying to remember the cause, he is a member on here maybe you could contact him via pm , he don't come on very often, im sure his was a main bearing failure as well. I cant be sure though, its a while ago , good luck mate. My tip would be tae buy a track bike, they tend tae be well cheap the now, whip the engine out fit in yours, then split the rest off the bike on ebay , probably wont lose out too bad that way. Least you can hear the engine running before you part with your cash.

There is / was one as I had same map until I had custom one done on dyno. Think its akrapovic decat and k&n but I may be wrong. Wasn't a bad map tbf , bit rich but ok. Custom map will get you 6 ish hp more mind with that set up.

Glad you got the bike sorted in the end , did you ever find out why it starved the bearing ?
just had my oil pump fail on my 4xv & Geof who's doing the work say's in all his time of racing & being a mechanic he's never seen an engine get so hot that not only has it warped the crank but written off the gearbox & new clutch too , the crank is now brown & there is a stain across the crank case's where the bikes been on its stand & the boiling oil has found it's level

welcome in Wain, sorry to hear the bike is dead fella, sounds odd for such a major failure.

I for 1 would be interested to find out what the cause was.

Does super lube help in the event of low or starving oil? if so how long would it help for
