intermitant spark r1

Hi, my name is jason from merthyr in s wales ive got a 53 plate r1 been standing for a few months went to start it yesturday it did try to fire then made a popping sound then wouldnt fire at all. so i drained the petrol and put new in thinking the petrol was dead,still wont fire so checked the plugs and ive got a intermitant spark now can any one Help me please

Check the leads , at the plug cap end the leads tend to come loose try pushing the or screwing the plug cap back on , some times you need to cut a little off the lead to make it screw on better & connect

hi jompy i rested the plugs on the body and found the sparks were jumping through the coil packs thats not rite is it ????

nope thats not right at all looks like your leads are breaking down :doh:

HI, everyone as i said sparks were jumping through the coils and not down the plugs so :D :D :D me and my mate pulled the rubber boots off them and found a brilliant spark popped to halfords bought four new plugs and now its never sounded so sweet but everything was pointing to the coils always take those boots off the coils befour you buy boys
