Welcome to the site Nigel, as you have guessed, we love peeps to tell us a bit about their biking history and show us pics of their ride..... That's the bike 
This really is a great forum, lots of god humoured banter and peeps always willing to help one and other out. I am a newish member and there are no clicks on here, we are all equal, well apart from Jompy, who only has half an R1...... I think he must have lost the other half... Or put it in a safe place and forgotten about it.
Anyway, welcome to a cracking site which is just as good at the bikes it serves ..... Yamaha's.... We love em......
