Post by Rb5scoob »

Welcome in Brian
Usually it's customary to post a hello in here with a bit about yourself & then we all tell you to get a bit up about your biking history & post a pic of your steed so we can get to know you & then you post your problems in the R6 section . . . . . . . . . . .

But f**k that you seem sound ensue , hope you find your answers . . . . . . . Just had my 98 R1 seize on me last week & trying to work out what it was , hoping it's the head gasket

No oil in the air box and the noise seems to be coming from clutch/ stator area?? Maybe I'm just being fussy

Brian, your r6 sounds better than my 13s, which rattles and ticks, on tick over it sounds just like a yam, it's part of the sound track, or was it the change when you revved her up? There was a bit do a whering, but it does sound ok to me.... But then I'm no engine expert.

I'm popping into Wigan Yamaha either tonight or tomorrow, I will ask them to listen to it

You are welcome mate.

Went to my Yamaha dealer tonight on the way home, played them your vid, they said it's hard to tell via a you tube vid, but it sounded ok to them, ... Just like Yamaha's sound, they do whine a bit..... Bit like their owners

they said if you are still worried, pop along to your nearest dealer and ask them to listen to it.... Not sue where you are from, but if you are in the north west, they said you can go and see them, just tell them I sent you, Stephen Edwards .. My dealer is Wigan Yamaha.

Good luck :)
