Hi, put a post up yesterday and got moaned at for not saying I am a new person.

So here I am located near Brands Hatch, been riding since 7 years old, mostly had 1000 V twins and various smaller bikes.

Gave up riding on the road 3 years ago and just did track days, loved it on the track.

Unfortunately couldn't get out enough on the trackdays so bought a KTM 525 supermoto as I don't need to travel far. Got meself back into road riding and ultimately wanted my first 1000 4 cylinder for trackday only.

I found the R1 4c8 crashed, so I rebuilt it and run it on the road to make sure it was all ok and that was it my friends, I was hooked back into riding on the road again.

Even if I pop to the shop for a sherbet dip ton it that does me.

I discovered why my life was getting un liveable and realised that riding me bike regularly had to be on top of my list of things to do again, ( just behind doing the wife of course )

SO there we have it I'm on the R1 and loving it every time i'm on it which is mostly in the rain at the moment and just waiting for the weather to warm up so I can try my new Goldspeed road legal cut slick's on the KTM.

Welcome again Dan.... I love what you have done to your 4c8. We are a good bunch of peeps on her and you will fit right in, so please stay and don't do what others do and fook off. There is plenty of banter on here and general p!ss taking, well if we can't laugh at ourselves then it's god help us. But more important than that, we all share a passion for Yamaha's and we are a community that supports one and other.

Welcome in, enjoy the site and well done on the 4c8, as I said flashtune will help in a good few ways and you can back off the engine braking, however after the RSV I am shocked you think its excessive. Ride her like a 2-stroke to get the best from the mota.

I have a racing developed FT map, it revs high on tickover but give 100% throttle from 2000 upwards.

I believe there is a video on You tube regarding the clock jumpers
