Hi from Sheffield
HI newbie to the forum but not to bikes and R1's ,had a 2001 and 2004, but been on a Aprilia Tuono since 2007. At the moment I am looking to put another R1 in the garage so trauling the net for a good low mileage example.
Great to be a forum member and I'm sure that I will be able to contribute to and learn from you all.
Cheers.

Re: Hi from Sheffield
Welcome in Phil, and good luck with the R1 hunting, peeps on here will be able to help if you have any questions.
This is by far the best forum ever, and I'm not just saying that, if you stick around, and we hope you do, irrespective of whether you finds an R1 or not, you will realise how hoot the site is. Yes we re all mad about Yamaha's and bikes in general. Admin are top, they let us do out own things, but like all good parents, they bring us back in line if they need to, which to be fair is almost as often as you find rocking horse poo.
If yiu want to post pics of your Aprilia or your previous R1's then you can host them on photobucket and copy a link in here.
Anyway welcome to the forum and enjoy .
Oh fir got to add, there is a lot of p!ss taking on her and occasionally threads can get hijacked ..... That happened to the last newbie we had because I spelt Colin's name wrong

HI Phil welcome... go friendly bunch here... welcome and enjoy your stay...
Riding an R1 is a little like poking a hibernating bear up the arse with a stick, when you doing it, its great fun but when you get caught out it will f**k you up!

Re: Hi from Sheffield
Thanks for the welcome guys. I would like another 2001 model in blue like my first R1 but it would have to low mileage and as close to original spec as possible, but a good 2004/2006 would tick the box tooLOCKE wrote:Welcome in Phil. My first and much missed R1

I'll get some pics of the ape posted soon.

Re: Hi from Sheffield
Welcome and good luck with finding another R1. There's quite a few of us with 4xv's and 5jj's. I've only had my 4xv on the road for a few weeks and am really enjoying it, although I do worry about the effect on my riding!

Agreed, very nice. Looks almost as good as a blue 4xv.
Must say the rear stand is a fail though - wrong colour!

Hey Phil
Great looking 5jj , there's plenty of 5jj's for sale , some on EBay or try R1 spares on Facebook . Everyone seems to be after the blue ones ! Is the blue the new red/white ? Carson has a nice red/white one in the for sale section

Hi Guys I'll have some pictures up this weekend, Great that Santa came early and I've managed to keep the Tuono. Plenty of time over the winter to fettle and get to know the bike.
