HELLO from mr Shiney

Post by Paulshine »

Hi Guy's,

Just thought i would join as i have taken on a little project in the way of a 4xv r1 2000. Bike is seriously tired but as i am a car detailer I thought this is a project i have to take on for my own pleasure.

Don't worry but there will be plenty of pics of the project.

Cheers Paul.

PS i aint even going to talk about my business I just want to share the project

Welcome in Paul
Woooo Hooooo another Carb R1 for the projects section with plenty of pic's
You can talk a bout you business if you like as long as you've not just come on here to sell stuff .
So tell us a bit about your self , where your from & a bit about your biking history . . . . Cilla will be along shortly lol
Ohh & get some pic's up buddy :)
pop over to the 4xv section & get the service manuals & parts micro fiche downloaded , have a read about the place theres some interesting stuff .
jompy wrote: shed loads of info on here that your going to find useful like downloadable service manuals / micro fiche's , links to different sites .
i use three sites for cross referencing parts .
partzilla for typing in the part number & checking part compatability http://www.partzilla.com/parts/detail/y ... 00-00.html
power sports of greenville for checking superceding parts http://brp.powersportsofgreenville.com/ ... 2210-10-00
And Wemoto for online prices http://www.wemoto.com/bikes/yamaha/yzf_1000_r1/98/

Also Borgs link-o-rama has helped in the past when i bought a kph clock set which you couldn't change to mph via the button
just hold your cursor over where it says "link section" & pick your selection from the menu that pops up , it's getting old now & alot of adds but still helpful .

Well I am a car detailer from Fife in Scotland, just to give you an idea of my work on cars,

Ford Escort RS1800 with millington diamond engine

If it needs to shine I will make it happen from metal to paint to plastic to vinyl. The crazy thing is not a lot of bikers know much about the products i use to seal surfaces but bikes are a nightmare to keep looking their best but with sealing products that last for 3 years and can handle 1300oC is the answer. 8-)

Been a biker for many years without a bike but having worked on all the fancy cars on the planet its time to do some of my own projects at the same time. My dad is a very keen biker with a Harley Softail custom, sportster hugger, lambretta ld125, james comet 98cc and CCM 644 R30 in green. I will share them all in time but what will be usefull is the contacts i have made in my business to achieve asthetic perfection.

Anyway exciting to be here and pics will be plentyful

Hello and welcome Paul. I'm sure I've heard about you front DW. I have a bit of OCD myself and get most of my stuff from Rich at PB. Keep us up to date with your project.

Welcome in Paul, cracking work you have done on all those cages, amazing. Don't suppose you can do the same for Cilla aka stever1

Enjoy the site, its great to have you onboard, I will be looking out for some tips and tricks about decent products to keep the flies from sticking and if you can supply anti crash wax that would be amazing :)
