Hello all

Post by BlitzR1 »

Good day eveyone,

I am new to this amazing forum and have been directed by a very dear friend.

I have bought used Akrapovic header with link pipe which the seller told me was for Yamaha R1 4c8 model (2007-08).

I already have Akrapovic cans and decat on my bike which is 2007 model.

However, Akrapovic agent in UK told me that this header is not for my bike. I only have the header picture and have not paid as yet.

Can someone please help me decide whether this header is for my bike or for earlier models.

I have uploaded the pic of this header in my gallary.

Much appreciated in advance.

Thank you,

BlitzR1

Very hard to tell when the exhaust isn't aligned. Unless there are ID numbers on the parts - I'd ask the Akra dealer how he can tell?

Thanks blackal,

I have asked the seller the part number.

Akrapovic agent said that this is old discontinued model and the mufflers for this model will cost £650 each.

I have put couple of more pics, please have a look and see if it makes a better sense!

Thanks,

Welcome to the forum Irfan and good luck in finding the answer to your question, I am sure someone will be able to help but sadly, I'm not that person .

The guys on here have tons of R1 related knowledge.

Good luck and welcome

Hi mate,

They look (and its pretty difficult to tell) like headers and decat from a full (race style) akro system, they are bigger diameter than your standard Akra stuff, so your cans wont fit :(

Not sure I can say its 5vy or 4c8, Damo666 has a full Akra system so he should be able to assist further

Oh welcome in ;)

Hi guys,

Will Power Commander V for 2012 (Yamaha R1) be remapped to 2007 (Yamaha R1) spec? Or are they build for specific year of bike?

Many thanks in advance.

Not firing

Post by BlitzR1 »

Dear friends,

Yesterday I took out bike for a spin and bike started perfectly. Left the bike running on stand and came inside house for literally 2 minutes. When I came back out noticed my son on bike and before I could stop him he revved it.

He by mistake put the bike in gear whist sitting on it, luckily as the bike was on stand, it didn't move.

However, it did not start again. I thought the battery is gone flat and when I charged with my car battery it did started fine. Went for a spin, came back, switched it off and the bike did not fire up. Symptoms as if battery flat, today called AA to charge the battery and the guy said that nothing is wrong with the battery, its showing 12+ volts and amps is like 100+ when trying to manually charge. He also said that the amp is too high.

He also said its more than likely that the starter motor has a defect.

Bike is 2007 with 12k on clock.

Any idea to what has gone wrong with it?

Thank you in advance.
