Lurker finally says hi

Post by Hot Wheels »

Afternoon all,

Thought it was about time I said hello on here so here I am.

I've been on TDR for years (made famous by my Vagisil R1) but discovered this place properly recently when doing some digging on YEC bits.

Currently own a 2004 R1 with an ex phase one motor in it that I've had for the last 6 years or so and love to bits. However I was recently looking at buying a slipper clutch for it, man maths took over and I ended up buying kyles very tasty 14b from him lol man maths at its finest hehe

Probably met a few of you at the track over the years as I'm pretty friendly but always pop over to say hi if you see me there =)

Great, this is going to be like when you broke up with an ex who you were still in love with and them bump into her with another man in every pub.

Welcome to the forum Tom, now do the sensible thing and sell me it back.
One week later and I would have been keeping that bike as my luck changed with work but that's life

Well I happen to know that it hasn't been all bells and roses for him, he took the bike away for a euro trackday and it ran like sh!t.
So not the best start for him but hopefully sorted now

Awesome shucks, you're making me feel bad kyle, I promise you can have first refusal if I ever sell it.

And yes, I had some pretty chappy running issues and only got about ten laps in on day one at Brno last week, thankfully took my old bike with me as despite my best efforts I couldn't resolve the issue at the track. Turned out to be a dodgy sensor/relay and a boat load of crap in the tea bags filter in the fuel pump. Kyles been ace though and already sorted me out with new replacements so fingers crossed it's all sorted now, going to try and get a day booked next week to make sure, then my old baby will be up for sale.

Thanks for the welcome peeps

Got Donington Park booked up for Tuesday next week, might even try and squeeze a cadwell in as well while I'm out in the van, can't wait to try it out properly.

So I only got a couple of dry sessions on the new bike on Tuesday because of the fine British weather lol, but ...

WOW what a bit of kit, it feels like an absolute weapon. Really looking forward to taking it somewhere I know well so I can really gel with it. Also need some new wets so I don't do what I did with the old bike on the last session ... oops
